Brentford will look to stay unbeaten in the Premier League when they travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday, with Bournemouth still chasing their first ever top-flight win over the Bees. Marco Rose's side have led in all three of their league matches this season yet remain without a win, while Brentford have drawn nine of their last thirteen top-flight fixtures.
Bournemouth's late collapses
Bournemouth have conceded four goals after the eighty-fourth minute this season, two of them in stoppage time. All four of the goals Bournemouth have scored in the league arrived before half-time, a pattern that has already cost Rose's side seven points from winning positions. Against Newcastle, Bournemouth had thirteen shots in the first half, five on target, but managed only four shots after the break and none on target.
Rose's team did find a win in midweek, beating Lincoln City 4-0 in the League Cup, the head coach's first competitive victory since taking charge. "In the second half, we dropped a bit in everything," Rose said of the collapse against Newcastle. Bournemouth have now dropped 29 points since the start of the 2025-26 season, the joint-highest total in the division.
Brentford's habit of drawing
Brentford have also let a lead slip in their past two top-flight matches, most recently at home to Sunderland, where Enzo Le Fee's eighty-second minute penalty cancelled out Vitaly Janelt's fifty-seventh minute opener in a 1-1 draw on Saturday, 5 September. That result left Brentford with eleven draws in 2026, second only to Bournemouth's twelve.
Brentford have conceded more goals than any other Premier League club since the start of last season, with six of those coming from the nine penalties they have given away. They are also the only side in the division to have missed a penalty this season, after Igor Thiago struck the post against Tottenham on the opening weekend.

Brentford sit fifth in the Premier League on five points after three games, with one win, two draws and no defeats, a record built on five goals scored and two conceded. Three wins and two draws in their last five matches leave them four points behind leaders Manchester City.
