Brentford FC has confirmed the retained and released lists following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. Several players have seen their contracts extended or new deals agreed, while others have departed the club. Five B-team players will leave Brentford upon the expiry of their contracts. Marley Tavaziva, Gregory Asemokhai, Max McKnight, Kyrie Pierre, and Michael McSorley have all been released, while Under-18 players Staitham Bowen and Yerime Ouattara will also depart the club. Tavaziva made his Zimbabwe international debut whilst with the Bees, having come through the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s post-16 education programme. McKnight joined Brentford in the summer of 2025 from Spurs and made 22 appearances for Sam Saunders’ side across a variety of defensive positions before being sidelined with injury. Pierre was another summer addition to the young Bees ahead of last season and had a big impact on the side with his work rate and versatility, scoring four and assisting three across 26 appearances. Asemokhai and McSorley both progressed through the Under-18s having helped Lydia Bedford’s side lift the Merit League 2 title in the 2023/24 campaign and were promoted to the B team ahead of the 2025/26 season. Ouattara scored eight goals and registered five assists across the 2025/26 campaign, in which he also captained Gary McDermott’s side on numerous occasions. A commanding centre-back, Bowen joined as a scholar ahead of the 2024/25 season, in which he made 14 appearances, scoring once. Brentford would like to thank all departing players for their dedication and contribution during their time at the club and wishes them every success in the next stage of their careers. At B-team level, Connor Wolfheimer, Luca Picotto, Matas Klimas, Riley Owen, Ethan Brierley, and Isaac Holland have all had option years triggered in their contracts and remain under contract for the 2026/27 season. New contracts have been agreed with Caelan Avenell, Oliver Shield, Andre Grey, and Conor McManus, while Val Adedokun has been offered a new contract and remains in discussions with the club. The following B-team players remain under contract with the club for the 2026/27 season: Reggie Rose, Joshua Stephenson, Benjamin Fredrick, Ben Krauhaus, Luka Bentt, Theo Mawene, Tony Yogane, Iwan Morgan, and Michael Olakigbe. Two players have had option years triggered in their contracts. Naeem Giscombe, who has been promoted immediately to the B Team, while Nedved Owusu will remain with the Under-18s setup for the 2026/27 season. New contracts have been agreed with Isaiah Powis, Aidan Golding, Archie Trimboli, Michel Boni, and Domeiro Bobb-Semple, with all five players receiving immediate promotion to the B Team. The following players remain under contract with the club for 2026/27: Otis Honor and Jacob Hanson, who will both join the B Team setup immediately, while Enrique Roca will continue with the Under-18s squad.
