The Bees dominated the shot count, registering 24 attempts to Reading's 17, and enjoyed 55% of possession. The result extends Brentford's unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions, a sequence that includes three draws and two wins.
Attention now turns swiftly back to league action, with Chelsea visiting the Gtech Community Stadium on Friday. Brentford will look to carry this cup momentum into that key domestic fixture as they aim to climb the standings.
