Chelsea have contacted Brentford regarding their 21-year-old left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf. The Senegalese defender is under contract with the Bees until the summer of 2031.

Diouf joined Brentford from West Ham United on 28 August this year for a fee of €40.8 million. He signed a five-year deal upon his arrival. His current market valuation is listed at €35 million.

Performance and profile

This season, the left-footed defender has made five Premier League appearances, totalling 154 minutes on the pitch. He has also featured three times in the EFL Cup but is yet to register a goal or an assist for the club. Diouf gained valuable experience at the 2026 World Cup, starting two of Senegal's three matches in the tournament.

His career began at Academy Mawade Wade in Senegal before a move to Troms IL. He joined Slavia Prague in January 2024, winning the Czech league title in the 2024-25 season, and then moved to West Ham for €22 million in July 2025.

The team has scored 16 goals and conceded nine this season. Thomas Frank's side have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five league matches. This recent form includes a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on 31 October, where an own goal and a strike from Igor Thiago secured the points, followed by a 3-2 defeat at Sunderland three days earlier, where Callum Wilson and Thiago were on target. Before that, they drew 1-1 with Hull City, lost 2-1 to Liverpool, and drew 2-2 with Aston Villa. The side currently trails league leaders Arsenal by ten points.
