Brentford FC is on the verge of signing Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln for a record-breaking €50m. The deal includes a guaranteed fee of €45m and easily achievable bonuses worth €5m. According to Bild, 1. FC Köln's managing director for sport, Thomas Kessler, is prepared to accept Brentford's latest offer for the 19-year-old. The deal is structured in a way that would see Köln receive a guaranteed fee of €45 million, plus easily achievable bonuses worth €5 million. It also includes a 15 percent sell-on clause. All that remains for the deal to go through is the final green light from the El Mala family and the club board. El Mala now looks set to become 1. FC Köln's most expensive sale ever, with the current record held by Anthony Modeste, who joined Tianjin Quanjian for around €35 million in 2018.
